Things change too fast to specialize- your specialization can be leapfrogged by developments you can’t anticipate. Radiologists, for example, are already obsolete because AI can read images far more accurately. Google’s notorious policy of hiring PhD s early on failed miserably because they were so specialized they could not innovate. The key is to learn how to learn, quickly. The faster you can adapt, the less likely you are to get left behind.
