My tip is simple but it took me a long time to figure it out: write the article and then go back and write the intro. It should be an abstract, a one paragraph ‘tell -em what you’re going to tell ‘em.’ This also conforms with SEO best practices because it gives the search engine an authoritative snippet to display in results.

And it should precede the sub-title. I fought that one too but it makes sense. The subtitle sells the rest of the article.
