Joe Biden is In An Echo Chamber, and it is Shrinking
When asked who he consults, he says “me”
This morning the Washington Post has a comprehensive article questioning the advice Biden is getting regarding the election and the increasingly smaller inner circle of advisors around him.
In his interview with Lester Holt of NBC last night he insisted he is ahead four points in the polls, then questions who believes polls, then says he is his own best advisor. The Post article goes into a wide variety of polls from many sources and he leads by four points in none of them, going back two months.
After the debate and two televised interviews, he still claims he is the only one who can beat Trump, despite no evidence of that. Is this arrogance? It appears that he does not read poll results himself and, instead, he is given reports by members of his inner circle, which has shrunk to six individuals who may be telling him what he wants to hear.
Those feeding him poll results are themselves pollsters and may be manipulating the interpretations of the polls they provide. There is a huge problem with this.
First, it is in their self-interest to keep him running. Second, events in this election change radically from day to day and any refusal to deal with the reality of those changes is…
