I've been thinking about this after writing here for over a year. My best story has earned about $150 over a year but keeps pitching in. The constant barrage of stories about high earning articles is very misleading and, I believe, discouraging to many writers. These are outliers. I write for Medium as an output for my views and experiences. I have been a professional writer for many years, making high 5-6 figures, so my writing here is coffee money, which is fine. What I like is seeing my 'fun' writing resonate with individuals. And this is a great place to polish your skills, or in my case, keep them fresh.
