Here’s something I learned recently: Mailchimp doesn’t count an open until a reader scrolls to the bottom of the email. Two takeaways: write short emails (not recommended), and, your opens may be higher than you think.
While, as a marketing person, I find the advice here good, I really have an issue with obsessing about things like mailing lists. In fact, I have an issue with the general obsession here on ‘making it’. You do it with good writing and hard work…and getting your work out into the real world where people pay money for it.
